La Table de Papepa

I came for my brother's wedding. From the appetizers to the meal, everything was perfect. I went back again on my own. Absolutely fantastic! The Thai salmon tartare was to die for! 🫶 The atmosphere and service are lovely! The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the menu. I highly recommend it.

Unexpected stop around 1:10 pm at La Table de Papepa in 39°C heat 🥵🥵🥵 A warm welcome and a positive response despite the restaurant closing at 1:30 pm. I was the only one in the dining room (my choice), enjoying the very slight breeze. A shandy was served in 2 minutes, followed by a delicious steak tartare 3 minutes later. A lovely, quick lunch break, the kind I wish I could find more often when traveling. Based on this experience, I highly recommend this establishment.

We had a reservation for four people at noon. Arriving early, we had an aperitif at the bar while waiting for our table, like other customers. We never complained about the wait, as we had arrived before our reservation time. Once seated, our order was taken quickly. We had chosen the daily specials, and a starter arrived a few minutes later. However, after waiting at our table for nearly 40 minutes, while a good portion of the terrace had already been served, we still hadn't received our main courses. No member of staff came to inform us of anything. When we pointed out the situation, explaining that we had to return to work afterward, the waiter seemed surprised and replied that we had "only" been waiting for 35 minutes and that we should have mentioned we were in a hurry. This response is difficult to understand, especially considering it's lunchtime and the daily specials are generally chosen precisely for their speed. According to the waiter, it seems you should allow up to two hours for lunch at this establishment. Even more regrettable was the lack of self-reflection in the face of a perfectly legitimate comment. To top it all off, as we were leaving, he tried to charge us for dishes we never received.

Excellent restaurant, very friendly and responsive staff, I highly recommend it.

I really like them, Nicolas and his crew, and they're fantastic in the kitchen! You don't need to go to culinary school to run a restaurant when you have so many other qualities!
